Inspirational Rap Songs

inspirational rap songsSome rap songs get you pumped, others get you energized, some might even get you sad, and then you have the inspirational rap songs. Those are the songs that motivate you and make you want to thrive for more. These songs remind you of what your goals are and what you need to do to achieve them.

While everyone has their own favorite inspirational songs, there are some songs that are inspirational no matter what anybody says. These are the songs that you should listen to every time you start to doubt yourself. Here’s a list of some of my favorite inspirational rap songs.

Here they are…

#1. Biggie: Juicy

I’m pretty sure almost everyone knows about this song but I wonder how many people actually feel the struggle portrayed in this song. Biggie talks about how he went “from ashy to classy” and he let’s all those non believers know that he made it.

Favorite Verse: “Now my mom pimps a Ac’ with minks on her back And she loves to show me off, of course Smiles every time my face is up in The Source We used to fuss when the landlord dissed us No heat, wonder why Christmas missed us Birthdays was the worst days Now we sip champagne when we thirst-ay Uh, damn right I like the life I live ‘Cause I went from negative to positive”

#2. Tupac: Keep Ya Head Up

This is another popular song that is truly amazing. Pac let’s all the women out there know that they can make it as long as they keep going and basically tells all the guys to act like guys. He also raps a bit about problems within society, as always.

Favorite Verse: “Because there’s too many things for you to deal with Dying inside, but outside you’re looking fearless While da tears, is rollin down your cheeks Ya steady hopin things don’t fall down this week Cause if it did, you couldn’t take it, and don’t blame me I was given this world I didn’t make it”

 #3.  Wu-Tang: C.R.E.A.M.

Of course this song has to go on this list. Cash Rules Everything Around Me, this song portrays a struggle in a way that makes you really feel what they mean with their rhymes. Both Raekwon and Inspectah Deck let you what’s up.

Favorite Verse: “Figured out I went the wrong route So I got with a sick tight clique and went all out Catchin keys from across seas Rollin in MPV’s, every week we made forty G’s Yo brothas respect mine, or anger the tech nine Ch-POW! Move from the gate now”

#4. Eminem: Loose Yourself

A motivational Em song that tells you to go for it. He talks about how he kept going no matter what and he also tells you about some of the struggle he’s currently facing. All in all this is a good motivational song.

Favorite Verse: “I was playing in the beginning, the mood all changed I’ve been chewed up and spit out and booed off stage But I kept rhyming and stepped writin the next cypher Best believe somebody’s paying the pied piper”

#5. Jay Z: Can’t Knock the Hustle

This song might not seem inspirational to some but if you pay attention, you’ll feel the sense of accomplishment displayed by it. Songs like these put you in a “boss like” mind state. That to me is motivation.

Favorite Verse: “screaming through the sun roof money ain’t a thang your worst fear confirmed, me and my fam roll tight like the firm getting down for life, that’s right, you better learn why play with fire, burn we get together like a choir to acquire what we desire we do dirt like worms produce g’s like sperm ’til legs spread like germs I got extensive hoes, with expensive clothes and I sip wine, and spit vintage flows but y’all don’t know…… “

#6. Sam Sneed: U Better Recognize

This is one of those songs that not many people know about. Sam does a good job at letting you know how he hustled from day one to get what he wanted. This is another “you gotta do what you gotta do” kind of songs.

Favorite Verse: “But now I’m on some new improved shit, making hits, stacking chips, now everything’s legitimate. I flipped the scrip a long time ago, on the five-o, when I had to scope with this new way to make my cash flow (uhm). Yes indeedy, I wasn’t greedy, got my niggaz out the gutter, now they’re rolling with the Sam Sneezy”

#7. Young Jeezy: Dreamin’

Another song about the struggle but with a good message. The title should be enough to let you know what this song is about. Jeezy tells you about his early days the way only Jeezy can.

Favorite Verse: “She always said I was a lot smarter then I looked So I took my dreams n made it some thousands Then I took my life n I made it a album I must be dreamin’”

#8. Kool G Rap: Fast Life

This is one of those songs you have to listen to when you’re focused on coming up. This track is basically all about the life and what it brings. This is truly a classic.

Favorite Verse: “Poppin Cristal like it’s my first child, lickin shots, holiday style Rockin Steele sweaters, Wallaby down Twenty-four carats, countin cabbage, like the arabs The marriage of me and the mic is just like magic Elegant performance, bubble Lex full insurance Guzzlin Guinness shootin catchin cases concurrent It’s Nas, seven hundred wives, King Solomon size We on the rise, me and G, ghetto wise guys The luciano Frankie Aiel, Bugsy Seagal”

#9. Immortal Technique: Leaving the Past

It’s hard to describe this song because it really puts your mental state in a different place. It inspires you in a way that most other songs can’t. You have to listen to it yourself to understand.

Favorite Verse: “I spit reality, instead of what you usually learn and I refuse to be concerned with condescending advice cause I am the only motherfucker that could change my life”

#10. Nas: I Can

This song has a great message for everyone especially those looking for success. It’s basically telling you to not go down the wrong path and instead focus on hard work so that you can get to where you’re going.

Favorite Verse: “Nobody says you have to be gangstas, hoes Read more learn more, change the globe Ghetto children, do your thing”

There you have it, some of my favorite inspirational rap songs. There’s plenty more to add but I’ll let you guys add some of your favorites on the comments below. I want to know which inspirational songs you like.
